Advancing impact in fragile & conflict-affected settings

Conflict Prevention, Peacebuilding, and Stabilisation

Leadership & Organisational Development

Storytelling & Documentary Photography

As an independent consultant, I support local and international organisations working in conflict-affected environments to strengthen their impact — whether in conflict prevention, stabilisation, or long-term peacebuilding. My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when strategy is closely connected to local realities and organisational structures.

Over the past decade, I have worked extensively across Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Sahel. This experience has given me a close understanding of regional security dynamics and the everyday complexities of operating in fragile contexts. I move between fieldwork, policy processes, and organisational practice - bringing together hands-on experience, analytical reflection, and strategic thinking. In practice, this has meant leading multinational teams in demanding environments and supporting organisations as a certified peace mediator and organisational consultant - helping people and institutions navigate change, strengthen leadership, and work more effectively under pressure.

Alongside this practical work, I remain actively involved in academic exchange and teaching. I am a Non-Resident Fellow at the Global Public Policy Institute in Berlin, teach on conflict management, security, and development, and serve on the advisory board of the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research (HIIK), contributing to the annual Conflict Barometer.

Documentary photography forms a third strand of my work. It offers a different way of engagement - one that focuses on lived experience, everyday resilience, and the human dimension of political and social upheaval. I am a co-initiator of the Odesa in Wartime photo project, an open archive documenting everyday life in Odesa, where ordinary routines continue under the constant presence of war.

My work is shaped by movement between these different worlds - field practice, policy engagement, academic reflection, and visual storytelling - each informing how I understand conflict, resilience, and the possibilities of change.
